Our Story

Founder and owner, Christopher Rehnberg, has been collecting and studying military weaponry for over thirty-five years. In addition, he has spent over ten years in the United States Army serving in multiple units and tasks. He retired as a senior Captain US Army Ranger. While being deployed multiple times to different countries around the world, he worked to defend and/ or train those military units. Through these years Chris has developed expertise that will assist collectors to find extremely rare items they desire.

Last Redoubt LLC was founded in 2017 in Kent, Connecticut. The company was created in order to fill the void created by insurance companies and the state of Connecticut when they canceled gun shows throughout the state. We realize that many people want to collect military weaponry or other firearms and have limited resources. The internet has also added to the difficult task of collecting original antique military items because it is extremely easy for others to sell fake or reproduced items and charge the collector the same price as if it was original.

Last Redoubt, LLC is a veteran owned and operated company that strives to hire other veterans, and law enforcement to assist collectors to find the best firearms.

History of the Last Redoubt

The company name was derived from colonial forts. These forts were found all over the world, including the eastern and mid-western part of our country. A redoubt is a fortified position that is located in the strongest section of a fort, giving remaining soldiers one last ditch effort to regroup and organize a counter-attack on the enemy forces or hold them off just long enough for reinforcements to arrive.

One of the history’s best-known battles involving the redoubt is the Alamo in Texas in the spring of 1836. In the early morning hours of March 6, 1836, the Mexican Army advanced on the Alamo. After repelling two attacks, the Texians were unable to fend off a third attack. As Mexican soldiers scaled the walls, most of the Texian soldiers withdrew into interior buildings. Defenders were unable to reach these points and were slain by the Mexican cavalry as they attempted to escape.
